My Approach
I am a firm believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I use an eclectic and playful approach which begins with establishing a therapeutic alliance based on trust, honesty, compassion, and collaboration. This means that I really like to take the time to get you to know you and understand who you are as a person before giving any feedback.
My theoretical approach is grounded in Buddhist Psychology which I believe promotes long term growth vs. short term solutions. I also integrate other approaches as necessary including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Family Systems. In taking the time to get to know you, I tailor my approach to your specific goals and interests.
About me
I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2007 and have practiced in community mental health, crisis services, school-based mental health, residential, and women's health agencies.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a theatre artist and arts educator and received a BFA in Acting with an emphasis in Original Works from Cornish College of the Arts in 1998.
